This collection of photographs is from the book Faces of a Reservation, A Portrait of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, by Cynthia D. Stowell.  Published by the Oregon Historical Society in 1987, Faces won an Oregon Book Award in 1988 but is now out of print.  The author is using the web to keep the images alive and available to the public, but also to honor the tribal members who generously granted access to their lives thirty years ago. Please respect the rights of the photographer as well as the dignity of her subjects while enjoying and sharing this digital gallery.
